SUMMARY
Responsible for the maintenance and preparation of accounting ledgers, journals, and financial statements for the company by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide leadership and oversight of the General Accounting team.
  • Facilitate monthly closing for all entities ensuring timely preparation of accurate periodic financial statements.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Responsible for complete review of balance sheet and income statement accounts for accuracy.
  • Reviews account reconciliations and financial statements for reasonable.
  • Support the organization’s financial systems including SAP, Tagetik, and other systems. Assist with design changes, blueprinting, and testing within those systems.
  • Manage the accounting processes related to capital expenditure for the entire organization.
  • Manage the intercompany accounting processes with affiliated companies.
  • Develop and train accounting staff regarding accounting, reporting and internal control requirements.
  • Facilitate audit process by delegating duties, reviewing, preparing documents and working with auditors.
  • Support the budget and forecast process for the company.
  • Support the design and implementation of an effective internal control environment.
  • Identify and lead process improvement projects and documenting processes.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises the Accounting Staff.  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in accounting; plus a minimum of 5 years related experience in a manufacturing or public accounting environment. Certified Public Account or Certified Management Accountant or similar license required.
